    Nora Schultz

    Autonomising work / 12.08.2015 13:30
    Location: Festung Hohensalzburg
    Language: English
On the basis of her course Terminal +, Nora Schultz will present a series of works which emerged from the eponymous complex of works developed in 2014, along with further works from 2015 unrelated to this context. The question to be discussed is how a superordinate concept, a narration giving the background story, can assume a productive function in a work, then be broken away from it – and how and whether it is possible for the work then to become autonomous.

In earlier printing work, Nora Schulz already reflected on the development of machines as potentially autonomous productive elements in a work, and on the further development of the printing process, and its transition into a highly informative narrative appliance.

Since 2014, Nora Schultz has used a drone camera for documenting the production process, and to contain the narration in voice-over. To what extent the videos and sculptures are independent of each other will be a point of discussion in this talk.
