In the series Fictions and Futures, cinéma copains examine the dealings with risk and time in finance markets – dealings which, despite their massive influence on all areas of people’s lives, take place within an impenetrable Black Box. This film series deals with the attempt to lift the lid on the invisibility and mystification of the financial world by a radical embrace, taking a critical look at prevalent images and seeking new symbols and images for their activities, which have yet to be iconically and semantically developed. The aim is understanding, détournement, subversion.

Here cinéma copains will present the series Fictions and Futures, and explore the question of what artistic strategies and specific filmic resources are suitable for triggering a critical examination of the complexity and abstraction of the world of finance.
