Roman Höllbacher (1963) was born in Hallein. He studied Art History and in 1993 co-founded the Initiative Architektur, where he remained on the executive committee for several years. He was architectural editor in the Verlag Anton Pustet (1999-2009), and now in the Müry Salzmann Verlag. In 2006 and 2009 he was research assistant in the Institute of Housing and Housing Economics at the Technical University Munich, and since 2009 he has been artistic director of the INITIATIVE ARCHITEKTUR in Salzburg.
