I would like to describe stages in production by looking at the changes in specific series of works. How are objects defined by their conditions of production? How are craftsmanship and incompetence interlinked? Do errors in translation slip between productive discontent and new formal territory? The lecture deals with styles of workmanship that take account of the material, and the tools that give the semi-finished product a different awareness. What is a really good sausage, and which one is just about outstanding?
