    Adriana Czernin

Adriana Czernin, born in Sofia in 1969, has lived and worked in Vienna and Rettenegg (AT) since 1990. She graduated in Graphic Arts from the Vienna University of Applied Arts in 1998.

    Investigation of the inside
is a project in which Adriana Czernin has been engaged since 2008. The works are linked by the interplay of forms and their shadows, of foreground and background, of surface and depth. This perplexing ambiguity allows us to recognise the transitions from conscious to unconscious, from visible to invisible. Czernin's exploration of ornament as system and expression, of its legibility, mutability and wealth of variation, is also an important element of her work. She uses a variety of genres, both abstract and representational, in her approach to these complex issues.
