    Drawing – concentrate and model / 09.08.2010–28.08.2010
Medium/Media: drawing, from sketch to installation
    Location: Festung Hohensalzburg
    Languages: German, English
    Maximum number of participants: 20
    Requirements: None

This course will explore various uses of drawing, ranging from the reduced sketch to complex installation, considering basic elements of drawing, such as reduction, speed and precision, and taking nude drawing as one of the fundamental skills. The role of drawing from live models as a means of practising figuration will be expanded into a critical appreciation of this method of training the eye.

A further form of "models", indicated in the title, refers to a specific quality of drawing, the use of simplest resources to develop formal and thematic prototypes of unlimited range. Today, drawing as a vehicle of substantial artistic works or ambitious artistic models enjoys equal status with established formats such as the reduced sketch or design.

Besides dealing with basic questions of drawing, students will develop exemplary projects/models, for which they may bring a sketched concept (derived from previous work) to be realised in class and presented in the final exhibition.
