"Abstraction forever!"

That's the central message of Rebecca Morris' Manifesto about abstract painting, which she read in the beginning of her lunch talk yesterday at Hohensalzburg Fortress. About 50 students came to listen to her while she was talking about working processes, her influences and what motivates her to go ahead with her work.

"Sometimes you need to get through a hard, long working process...failure is quite an important part in the life of an artist..." (Rebecca Morris)

She realized soon that photorealistic painting was "just not her style" and she is convinced that the paintings she created at the age of five have been some of her best abstract works, very similar to her recent paintings ...
