Olav Westphalen and Leya Mira Brander

For those who are interested in cartoons and caricatures Olav Westphalen (together with Marcus Weimer well known under the pseudonym "Rattelschneck") will consider joke mechanisms and innovation not only in cartoons but also in conceptual and critical art. Each month Westphalen is cartooning the art scene in artnet magazine. Leya Mira Brander combines her images (prints from copper plates) in a way that might remind of comic strips, to huge two- and three-dimensional installations. In her course in Salzburg, she will teach a quiet old-fashioned technique for a very fresh and contemporary image production.
