We highly recommend Milena Dragicevic's fourth solo show "Pampero" with new works at Galerie Martin Janda in Vienna, still on view until 26 July. Milena Dragicevic has teached at Salzburg International Summer Academy in 2011, 2012 and 2013. A picture of last year's goat "Susi" is also involved.

If you happen to be in Riga, we recommend to visit Olga Chernysheva's solo exhibition "White Lines – on the Earth, Dark Lines – in the Sky", opening at Riga Art Space TODAY, 13 June, at 4.30 p.m. At the 2014 Summer Academy, Olga Chernysheva, together with Anna Jermolaewa, will direct the course "In search of the image. Catch and release". You can still apply here if you like to participate in this course, running from 21 July to 2 August.

What is the function of painting in our society? Ellen Harvey in her course encourages students to question the meaning of contemporary painting practice. Harvey's course is intended for students who are interested in a lively critical discussion of the possibilities of painting, and who are interested in the conceptual possibilities offered by painting in their own work.

We recommend Jennifer Allen's most recent article in the current issue of Italian contemporary art magazine Mousse. She reflects on the status of the image today and its value in the age of digital reproduction. At this year's Summer Academy, Allen will direct a course in The art of writing. She will also give a talk within the frame of the lecture series CITIES – spaces for art, politics, living... where she will discuss what happens to “art in public space” if the border between public and private sphere becomes unclear.
