A few days ago Pakistani artist Aisha Khalid, who is going to teach miniature painting next summer, opened a show, together with Imran Qureshi, at Pakistan National Council of the Arts, National Art Gallery in Islamabad called Two Wings to Fly Not One http://projectartdivvy.com/exhibition/
In her unique course students will be introduced to certain basic skills (brush-making, wasli-(paper)making, and processing the paints/pigments in a traditional way) and gain an understanding of the ancient art form of miniature painting. At the end of the course they will translate their previous assignment-based practice into their own personal visual vocabulary.
