Michael Beutler, was born in Oldenburg
(DE) in 1976. His works are usually a reaction to the social and
architectural structure of the particular exhibition space, used equally as
production facility and place of presentation. In order to produce the modules
for his installations, he first constructs his own machines, then processes
industrially manufactured materials such as paper, metal, wood or plastics,
often involving others in the creation of his works. He sees this state of
temporary uncertainty and processual development as a productive component of
his work (Thomas Thiel, Bielefeld Kunstverein 2014).
